If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn;
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight;
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy;
If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty;
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient;
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence;
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate;
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice;
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith;
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself;
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns
to find love in the world.
Parenting Poem
.Today I left some dishes dirty.
The bed got made around two-thirty.
The diapers soaked a little longer.
Their oder got a little stronger.
The crumbs I spilled the day before,
were staring at me from the floor.
The fingerprints there on the wall,
I guess will be there come next fall.
The dirt streaks on those wonderous panes
will still be there next time it rains.
For shame, oh you lazy one! you say.
And just what did you do today?
I nursed a baby 'til she slept.
I held a toddler while he wept.
I played a game of hide-and-seek.
I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a sled, I sang a song.
I taught a child what's right and wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much showes , I guess it's true.
Unless you think that what I've done,
Might be important to some one.
With bright eyes and sweet soft hair
If that is true, I've done my share.
